Hello Dorking ran their first Creepy Craft Caper on Wednesday 30th October at Theodore & Sephone’s Sweet Shop at Pump Corner, South Street.
The team welcomed over 250 families to the event where they enjoyed decorating creepy crowns and freaky face masks, face painting and phantom photo opportunities. Many families then went on to enjoy the rest of Dorking by taking part in the Friends of Dorking Halloween trail.
The town also benefitted from Free Parking for the day, an initiative put in place by Mole Valley District Council, which encouraged visitors from neighbouring towns such as Epsom, Ashtead and Brockham to come and explore Dorking’s unique mix of independent retailers, antiques and pre-loved stores, award-winning restaurants and cafes and creative service businesses.
Hello Dorking BID Manager, Jo McGowan said “It was lovely to see so many excited families enjoying the event and the town of Dorking. For some it was their first visit and for others it reminded them why Dorking is such a great place to shop and enjoy leisure time. Many will return for our Christmas Festival on Sunday 1st December now they have seen how much fun the family can have in Dorking.”
A huge thank you to Surrey County Council for their generous support of this event.
