If we only had a day in Dorking to get cosy for autumn, this is what we’d do. ![]()
The temperatures are (finally!) dropping, the layers are going on and you might even be secretly pleased to be saying goodbye to summer!
So this week’s Dorking day out is all about embracing autumn. A few new wardrobe favourites, something cosy for the house and finishing off with a delicious glass of red. Let’s go!
An autumn walk sounds lovely until your feet get wet! Well, That Lovely Shop has just the thing for you with their wonderfully colourful Merry Boots. Perfect for getting out in the fresh air and splashing through a few puddles while keeping your feet perfectly dry.
And while you’re swapping sandals for boots, why not give the rest of your wardrobe a little autumn refresh too? Pop into Anni and Arthur’s Yard, a lovely sustainable fashion boutique filled with thoughtfully chosen pieces to help you step into the new season in style. A wonderful place to discover something a little different for your autumn wardrobe.
It’s not just you that needs to get cosy – remember to turn your attention to home too. Opposite, The Fig Tree has candles, mugs, body care and lots more to help you embrace those darker evenings. A new mug and a cosy night in? Say no more!
Of course, a new outfit deserves a few finishing touches too, so The Wardrobe on South Street is your next port of call for a few accessories. Bags, footwear, jewellery and more – you’ll pop in for a mooch and come out with something you didn’t realise your wardrobe was missing!
Although we’re not heading home quite yet. There’s one more stop, and it’s Swirl wine bar. A glass of red, a relaxed atmosphere, somewhere comfortable to sit and absolutely no rush to be anywhere else. Now that’s how to finish an autumn day in Dorking.
And there you have it – a little autumn wardrobe refresh, a few treats for home and a very good excuse to spend some time enjoying Dorking’s independent businesses.
That’s another Dorking day done! Keep following along because we’ve got plenty more ideas for spending time in our town.
