Dorking Guerrilla Knitters' Poppy Installation for Armistice Day 2024
Published On: October 4, 2024

The Dorking Guerrilla Knitters are organising a heartfelt poppy installation for Armistice Day on 11th November, honoring all those who have given their lives for their countries. This inclusive project invites the community to craft and contribute poppies in various symbolic colours:

  • Red: Honouring military personnel who died in wars.
  • Purple: Recognising the animals who served and suffered in conflicts.
  • White: Remembering all victims of war, both military and civilian.

The poppies will have black centres, and participants are encouraged to add personal touches such as embroidered dates or names. The installation will take place at the Dorking War Memorial, where you can attach your poppies to the netting in the week leading up to Armistice Day.

How to Get Involved:

You are warmly invited to join this community effort, crafting poppies in remembrance and adding them to the installation at the war memorial.
