All I want for Christmas is …
Easily tick off your Christmas list in Dorking!
There’s something to be said for Christmas shopping in a town where you can wander between independent shops, find things you wouldn’t necessarily see elsewhere and get advice from people who really know what they’re selling.
Dorking has a wonderful mix of specialist retailers, gift shops and independent businesses, making it an ideal place to find presents that feel a little more personal.
For gifts, homewares, accessories and interesting finds, explore Conundrum Gifts, The Lemon Tree, That Lovely Shop, The Fig Tree, Sandrock House, Harman Interiors and Westcott & Williams. Each offers something different, whether you’re buying for family, friends or someone who is particularly difficult to shop for.
And some of the most interesting presents aren’t necessarily traditional gifts. Dorking’s specialist shops offer plenty of alternatives. From games and models at Game N Play and Dorking Models to cycling gifts and accessories at Cycle Collective, Head for the Hills and Cogs, there’s inspiration for all sorts of interests. For music lovers, Spin Sounds is well worth exploring for vinyl records, while art lovers can discover something special at South Street Gallery. Bookworms will find plenty to browse at Waterstones, and for those interested in natural remedies, herbs and wellbeing, The Historical Herbologist offers something a little different.
For outdoor enthusiasts, there’s S.C. Fuller while The Boothole is another of Dorking’s longstanding businesses with a specialism in leather goods. And don’t forget our charity shops for gift wrap and cards.
One of the pleasures of shopping locally is the personal service. You can ask questions, discover something new and find people who are genuinely knowledgeable about what they do.
So rather than doing all your Christmas shopping online, why not spend a few hours exploring Dorking? You might be surprised by just how much you can find on your doorstep.
This Christmas, give Dorking’s shops a look before looking further afield.
