Terms and Conditions for Competitions:

 

General Information

  • Competitions are organised by Dorking Town Partnership/Hello Dorking and are free to enter.
  • All entries must be original and owned by the entrant.
  • By entering, you agree to the terms outlined below.

Eligibility

  • Open to UK residents only, excluding employees or associates of Dorking Town Partnership.
  • For entrants under 12 years of age, parental consent is required.

Photography Competition Specifics

  • Open category but please indicate when entering if you earn any money from photography
  • Submissions must be digital and free of watermarks or signatures.
  • The deadline is November 9, 2025, with winners announced the week of November 25, 2024.
  • The photographs will be judged by a panel of professional photographers and our sponsor.
  • The winning photos will be displayed at the Christmas Festival on November 30, 2024

Art Competition (Schools)

  • Open to local schools in Dorking only.
  • The projects will be displayed at Dorking URC during the Christmas Festival with a public vote.

Window Display Competition (Businesses)

  • Open to local businesses in the BID area.
  • Judging will completed by the public.
  • The winning display will receive promotion on Hello Dorking’s platforms.

Copyright & Usage

  • Entrants retain copyright to their photos and drawings but grant Dorking Town Partnership the right to display and use them to promote the town across various media, including social media, exhibitions, and online.

Data Protection

  • Personal data will be handled in compliance with UK GDPR laws and will only be used for administering the competition.

Prizes and Announcements

  • Winners will be announced via Hello Dorking’s social media and website, or by a separate panel as indicated above.
  • Prizes must be claimed within three months of the announcement or will be forfeited. No cash alternatives are available.

Judging

  • The decisions of the judges are final.
  • The competitions will be judged by a combination of public votes and a selected panel, depending on the competition.
