Founded by Charlene, this is a story rooted in strength and resilience – after working for years as an accountant and in higher education, she retrained as a Pilates instructor, teaching from her garden studio for the past five years. But after the heartbreaking loss of her 15-year-old son, Ty, to suicide last year, Charlene chose to follow her calling fully. In Ty’s honour, she and her family founded the Tyler Abdul Foundation (TyFo) to support suicide prevention, and start Pilateso as a living extension of that mission: a community hub for wellbeing, mind, body and soul.
This beautiful new space brings together:
A reformer studio with 9 state-of-the-art Balanced Body Allegro2 reformers
Classes, 1-2-1s, duets, bespoke sessions and corporate team-building packages.
A downstairs therapy space for treatments and practitioners who share their ethos.
Pilateso has already been welcoming people in, inviting The Dorking Butchery team to trial their new men’s-only class, and inviting friends and family for their special preview day. But today, 1st September, is the official opening and the start of something truly special for our town.
