Dorking is blessed to have a premier entertainment venue in the town centre. Dorking Halls has an exciting programme of live music, family entertainment, cinema and many interesting events and exhibitions which you can view here. While you’re here you may want to make a proper occasion of it with a meal or a few drinks. There are so many fabulous options in Dorking and we wanted to share a few of them to whet your appetite.
Firstly Dorking Halls itself has a cafe and bar perfect for snacks and drinks before the show and during the interval.
Right next door to them is Chifan, serving Chinese cuisine with a special “all you can eat” offer. Across the road is Roosters Kitchen, a Mediterranean Turkish restaurant and cocktail bar serving grills and mezzes.
As you continue along the High Street you’ll find Sang Thai, a restaurant that has been in town since 2003 and next door Swirl Wine Bar, bringing you the finest wines from around the globe, cocktails and a menu of charcuterie and South African delicacies.
If good hearty pub fayre is what you fancy The Surrey Yeoman can provide that and they celebrate Fish Friday every week.
For Japanese food head to Umami with freshly made sushi and Asian specialities, and round the corner in Dene Street you’ll find Arrack Bar and Restaurant, serving Sri Lankan cuisine and The White Hart for a quick drink before the show.
Back on the High Street you’ll find Arto Restaurant in a beautiful Grade II listed building, offering Mediterranean Cuisine with weekly specials. A couple of doors along you’ll find the White Horse, a cosy inn with a decadent restaurant serving seasonal and sustainably sourced dishes.
Across the road in St Martin’s Walk is Turkuaz, a family friendly restaurant with a Turkish flavour, whilst back on the High Street, Tikka Nation gives a modern twist on Indian Street Food.
Still only a ten minute walk away are the many restaurants and pubs in West Street and South Street.
In West Street we have our own Mediterranean Steak House, Heaven’s Kitchen. They have amazing offers most nights of the week with the most premium of steaks. Heaven’s Kitchen also have an amazing Cinema Offer where if you dine from their main menu, they will deduct the price of your cinema ticket from your bill. Whether it’s date night, a family treat, or a well-deserved solo escape, we’ve got the perfect evening. You just need to present your same-day Dorking Halls cinema booking confirmation when you arrive and they’ll deduct the cost of your ticket from your bill! Available Sunday – Wednesday 10am – 6pm and Thursday to Saturday 10am – 5:30pm.
Across the road is Aroma, a modern Italian Restaurant where fresh pasta and crisp pizzas take centre stage, or If Chinese is more your thing, the New Fountain Garden is a Dorking favourite. There are also 3 pubs to choose from in West Street, The King’s Arms, The Star and The Old House at Home. All provide history and great ales.
On South Street you’ll find 4 pubs, The Bulls Head, The Spotted Dog with amazing views from their garden, The Cricketers who are famous for their pizzas and The Queen’s Head serving high quality British Food. As you make your way back along South Street you have choices. Sorrel the town’s Michelin Star restaurant, Rialto Lounge Italian inspired fayre, and just tucked away in Junction Road is Dorking Brasserie, serving fine Indian cuisine since 2004.
If a drink or a dance after a show is what you’re after then Knox almost opposite Dorking Halls is where you need to head.
So book your tickets, book your table and have a great night out in Dorking!
