Kids for Kids adopts remote villages in Darfur, where children are living in intolerable poverty. Our holistic programme of projects is tailored to each village, with input from the villagers themselves. We empower local people, training them to run the projects for themselves and their community, so they can raise their families out of poverty long-term, and give their children hope of a better future.
Kids for Kids has been demonstrating for the past 20 years that real sustainable help is possible despite violence which initially erupted in 2003. Kids for Kids celebrates 20 years of providing an entire package of basic grassroots projects, crucially, identified, and run, by the villagers themselves. “We rely on volunteers in every village,” explains Patricia Parker MBE and Dorking resident, “we could never be certain that Kids for Kids would be allowed to continue. We train everyone involved so that work would continue, helping more and more families, whatever happened to us.”
Kids for Kids is celebrating its 20th Birthday – join their events, online, and, later in the year, in person! If everyone gave me one goat just think how many children’s lives we could save!”
