After an amazing display of artwork from our local schools on the Christmas Festival day, here are the results of our DorKingdom Fairytale art competition.
Our local school children were asked to create festive artwork with the theme: What Christmas Means to Me – and wow! What a great job they did.
Firstly, a huge well done to all the incredible young artists who took part. The talent, creativity, and imagination shown by Dorking’s school children really made this competition a festive highlight.
During the Christmas Festival on 1st December, the artwork was proudly displayed at the United Reformed Church on West Street, and the public cast their votes (an incredible 446 votes were counted!).
Here are the results!
1st Place: – Pupil from year 3 – St Martin’s School
2nd Place: Pupil from St Martin’s School
3rd Place (tie):
Pupil from St Paul’s School
Pupil (Year 2) – St Joseph’s School
Each piece was packed full of Christmas cheer and the winners should be so proud of themselves. And to every child who took part – thank you, your artwork brought the spirit of Christmas to life in Dorking.
Thank you to Chris at the URC for his amazing support of the competition and to all the schools that supported us – Dorking Nursery, St John’s, St Paul’s, St Martin’s, St Joseph’s, Powell Corderoy and All Saints Surrey Hills.
And thank you too to our amazing sponsors of the event HJP Chartered Financial Planners who have sent this message – “Congratulations to the winners and a heartfelt thank you to all the participants of the DorKingdom Fairytale Art Competition! It was a joy to see your incredible creations during the event.”
