Live Music and Nightlife
We have weekly gigs at The Kings Arms and The Old House at Home, DJ sets at Knox Bar, vinyl sessions and Goldenlands at The Star, tribute acts at Turkuaz, live acoustic nights at Swirl, karaoke and darts at Arrack, and regular music and quiz nights at The White Horse.
Family-Friendly Activities
Craft Capers at Dorking Halls, outdoor theatre in Meadowbank Park, soft play at Silvermere and Burgundy & Black, workshops from The Dance Project, storytelling and challenges at Dorking Library and the big Family Fun Day in July.
Creative Events
Teen sewing classes at Tracey’s Sewing Room, furniture painting at Westcott & Williams, floral workshops at Swirl, make-your-own scones with Harts at the Courtyard and summer art sessions with Surrey Artists Open Studios.
Food and Drink
Food and Drink Week incorporating Restaurant Week in August, 2-for-1 cocktails at Heavens Kitchen, BBQs at The Surrey Yeoman, South African brunch at Swirl, pizza nights and wine tastings and local produce from The Food Float every weekend.
Culture and Heritage
Guided walks from Dorking Museum, live shows at Dorking Halls, the summer exhibition on Dorking’s refugee history, Heritage Open Days in September and film nights at The Green Room.
Sports and Fitness
Pre-season fixtures at Meadowbank Stadium, open weekends at Dorking Sports Centre, toddler gym sessions and Aqua Splash through the summer and weekly Puppy Hour at Pets Corner.
Markets and Pop-Ups
The Food Float outside Boots every Friday and Saturday, Windibank Auctions behind Dorking Halls and the Downs Solicitors walled garden open for charity as part of the National Garden Scheme.
Community Events
The Great Big Green Week in June, including Dorking’s town-wide litter pick and eco workshops at the Quaker Meeting House, plus free entry events like Crime Prevention Day and the Patchworking Garden Summer Open Day.
