Join us in celebrating the heart of Dorking – our wonderful community! The BID Community Spirit Awards celebrate the independent spirit that helps to make Dorking a wonderful place to visit, live, work, and enjoy:

We are honouring three Dorkinians who have made a significant impact on our community. Entering is easy. Nominate yourself or someone who inspires you. Entries close at midnight on 3 November 2023.

Finalists will be invited to the Very Dorkensian Christmas event and we will announce the winners live on the day at 3pm.

Best Vintage Outfit

Are you coming to our Very Dorkensian Christmas on Sunday 3rd December? Get your glad rags on and dress up in your best vintage outfit for our festival! We will be out and about that day and our team will be taking photos of our audience’s street style! Voting will commence on our @hellodorking channel after the event.

Please do dress up on the day and share your Victorian, Vintage, and Dorkensian street sense. Depending on the uptake (fingers crossed), we’ll hold a competition after the event and will share a shop local gift voucher for the winner!

🗳 We have purchased trees for our Dorking primary schools for them to decorate (and to keep and to plant for their schools). Be sure to vote on the day for your favourite tree at the United Reformed Church.

Seymours Estate Agents will select their favourite and sponsor a prize to the winner to shop locally on the high street. We think they are going for the most festive lighting display – we hear they love the lights! It’s all in good fun, so enjoy it and get into the festive spirit.
