BID meeting with Thames Water, Surrey Highways, and Mole Valley District Council regarding Dorking West Street issues
Published On: November 1, 2024

This afternoon, Thames Water provided an important update on the repair work in West Street, Dorking.

“I am writing to update you regarding our ongoing work in West Street, Dorking.

The final stages of our work have progressed well over the past week. I am pleased to confirm that we will begin demobilisation from site over the weekend. We will be leaving site on Monday and re-opening the road to traffic.

We are working closely with the team at Surrey Highways around the re-opening, as traffic signals at High Street/South Street/North Street will need to be reset by their team.

We have received one new business claim this week, bringing the total number of claims received so far to 21. Three businesses will shortly be receiving a first interim payment, with a further 3 receiving a second interim payment, bringing the total number of interim payments made to 13. Our claims team will continue to support businesses through the claims process following the completion of our work. If you are aware of any business that requires assistance on this matter, please do not hesitate to share their details with me.

Thank you all for your patience while we completed this repair. As explained, we will be in touch as we progress our plans regarding the downstream pipework.”

Best regards,
Alice Keeping
Local Engagement Manager – South West London and Surrey
