Dorking celebrated another part of its amazing heritage this week with the unveiling on a Blue Plaque at the old Strawberry Studios South site. On Monday 28th October the band 10cc who originally founded the studios in 1976 were in Dorking to unveil the plaque and meet fans and enthusiastic Dorking residents. The studios were used by numerous recording artists including Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Cliff Richard and the Ramones.
We were delighted to be joined by original 10cc member and studios founder Graham Gouldman, who performed the honours with the current line up of the band, before heading to Spin Studios for a record signing and then on to the Dorking Museum to meet the Dorking community and see local artist Uncle Stubble’s wonderful artwork.
