Road closures for the DorKingdom Fairytale Christmas Festival in Dorking town centre
Published On: October 23, 2025

In order for everyone to enjoy the Christmas Festival safely on Sunday 30th November 2025, a partial closure of the centre of town during the event from 7am to 7pm is reuqired.

Roads to be partially closed under the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 are North Street, West Street, South Street and Dorking High Street.

These are the details of the closures:

  • West Street closure from Junction Road to Pump Corner – from 7am to 7pm.
  • High Street closure from Lyons Court to Pump Corner – from 7am to 7pm.
  • South Street closure – Partial closure of one lane on the shop side of the road. Access available from Rose Hill. South Street parking bays will be suspended from 7am to 8pm.
  • North Street – from the car park to the junction with Pump Corner from 7am to 8pm.
  • During the closures, the direction of Junction Road will be reversed to allow access to Waitrose from West Street.

There will be clearly marked diversions in place so drivers can bypass the closed sections of town during the festival, as well as event stewards to assist and give managed access where needed. The best way to approach the town by car will be via the Cockerel roundabout.

Parking will also be suspended from 00:01am on Sunday 1st December on South Street from Pump Corner to Waitrose and the 3 bays in Junction Road opposite Waitrose Car Park.

Parking

All car parks will remain open and accessible throughout the Festival and parking is free on a Sunday.
