We champion the value of all of our businesses in reinvigorating an economy and adding value to the community. Dorking services and hospitality are superb, bringing much-needed footfall to the high street, they are friendly and collaborative, and they find ways to partner with each and shine a light on other businesses. High streets are invaluable to our communities because they provide wonderful experiences that enrich our lives that online activities just can’t provide. So let’s take a moment to cheer on another award-winning business providing joy and creativity in Dorking.
Take Teresa Weller on Dorking High Street
Our multi-award winning Teresa has been shortlisted for another prestigious British Hairdressing Award. It has a positive impact on our town, community and other businesses.
From The Business Magazine:
The award and event features ten regional categories, as well as nine specialist awards including Afro, Men’s and Avant Garde. The evening ends with the announcement of the British Hairdresser of the Year – arguably the industry’s greatest accolade.
Teresa joins six other finalists, having submitted four photographic images showcasing their expertise.
The final round of judging takes place this October and requires finalists to submit a further four images.
Her success, and the success of all of our award winners (there are too many to list!), has a halo effect, bringing footfall, raising brand awareness, and investment opportunities. You can learn more about Teresa’s past success right here on our Dorking Directory: Teresa Weller HairArt
Dorking as a Bridal Destination
Teresa is known as a bridal hair expert (technical wizard, but who are we to say?) and has launched a separate brand to support this business. She is perfectly placed in Dorking, known for its outstanding natural beauty, independent shops, heritage, history and culture.
Dorking is also well known as a wedding destination, with offerings that include Teresa’s hair artistry, Felicity Westmacott, multi-award winning Bride By Aster, and Dapper Formalwear for Men. Wedding parties regularly rely on Flowers by Elaine for their floral offerings, Two Many Cooks for catering, and Mayflower Spa for ultimate luxurious wedding prep and a bit of relaxation pre and post-wedding.
We are thrilled to have the White Horse available for wedding parties, corporate events and dining once again after a £4M refurbishment – they not only refreshed the building but own the freehold so they’ve made a significant investment in the town.
What’s Next
Let’s all cheer on Teresa and all of our amazing businesses, support their work and share in their success.
