An exciting new era is beginning at Attlee’s Country Store in Dorking. Tackling the new trading environment following corona virus head on by offering more to the public, expanding the range of pet, equestrian and farm products as well as continuing to evolve and grow.
Steeped in history, Attlee’s Country Store has been located in the heart of Dorking since 1788. Founded by corn merchant John Attlee, great-grandfather to Prime Minister Clement Attlee, the country store has been revolutionised over the years. Withstanding nine reigns, both World Wars and the industrial revolution, the store continues to stand as a pillar in Attlee’s heritage and the Dorking community.

Situated at Parsonage Mills, Station Road, just 100 yards north east of Dorking High Street and with plenty of free parking, customers can expect an ever growing offering of pet, equestrian and farm products as well as expert advice from the highly knowledgeable team, now open seven days a week for customer convenience.
Maintaining the heritage of Attlee’s has always been of great importance to the team, one artefact of note is an original grain sack which dates back to 1800 and is displayed in the store. Attlee’s also boasts an event space for the community for hosting talks, demonstrations and puppy parties. This space is a place for the community to congregate. “We want Attlee’s to continue to be part of the Dorking community hub, where you can drop in and enjoy events, talks and demonstrations as well as browse through our clothing and footwear, equestrian, farm and pet ranges.” says Retail Manager, Maria Giuliani.

With over 200 hundred years of trading in Dorking, Attlee’s hopes to continue to build and strengthen its community network and deliver excellent service, advice and products to their customers. These founding values are still at the heart of the business today “The Attlee family worked hard for centuries to develop the business to what it is today and we are pleased to be able to continue this development and offer our customers an even better shopping experience.” says Director, Fred Walker.
