DESCRIPTION:THESE WORKSHOPS ARE NOW FULL – Please email info@hellodorking.com to be added to a waiting list. \nIf you are a business or community group/organisation who would like to take part in our Festival of Light\, you can do so by making a lantern at one of our community workshops on Wednesday 11th February. \nWe will provide all the materials and instructions/demonstration to help you create a willow lantern and we’ll even provide an LED light so you can illuminate your creation at the procession. \nThis workshop will not only mean you go away with a lantern for the procession\, it also a great mindful and creative activity and a great networking opportunity too\, to meet other businesses and groups in the area. \nWe also welcome any group leaders who want to come a long and learn how to make a lantern so that they can lead their group to make their own lantern in their own setting. \nAll materials and attendance is free. \n  \nFor full details of the Festival of Light procession click here. \nIf you are a family wanting to make a lantern see details here. \nIf you are a resident or visitor wanting to make a lantern click here. \nPhoto credit: Farnham Craft Town \n

SUMMARY:Dorking Festival of Light - Family Lantern Workshop - Friday 20th February
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Dorking Festival of Light we are inviting families to come and make and decorate their own wooden lantern to then bring to the Festival of Light procession straight afterwards. \nDetails \nFriday 20th February – 2pm to 5pm to make your lantern. Full materials including an LED tealight will be provided for free. We will also have free face-painting available. \nAll our pre-booked spaces are now full. There will be a few dropin places on the day allocated on a first come first served basis. \nThen join the Light Festival entertainment and food and drink from 5:30pm outside Dorking Halls\, and then the procession from approx 6:15pm which will finish at St Martin’s Church. DESCRIPTION:Something new is coming to Dorking… and it’s going to shine. 🌟 \nThis February\, we’ll be bringing a little warmth and light to the town with Dorking’s very first Festival of Light. ✨ \nWhen the nights are still dark and winter feels long\, we’re creating an evening that brings people together\, with handmade lanterns\, a glowing procession through the town centre\, and a real sense of community celebration. \nAt the heart of the Festival of Light is people. Local groups\, organisations and residents coming together to make something beautiful\, take part in something shared\, and light up Dorking at a time of year when connection matters most. \nIt’s about creativity\, kindness and togetherness and we’d love you to join us for our inaugural Festival of Light. \nDetails \nFriday 20th February 5:30 – 7:00pm \n5:30pm – Gather outside Dorking Halls from 5:30pm where there will be entertainment\, a pizza truck from Monteforte and drinks available from Dorking Halls and the Sports Centre.
