Dorking is looking forward to a fantastic celebration on Saturday 10th May to commemorate VE Day 80 and Surrey Day.

St Martin’s Walk

  • A Flashmob from First Dance Studios and a 1940’s dance lesson
  • Farncombe Jazz Choir
  • A stand showcasing 1940’s fashion

St Martin’s Walk Car Park

  • Come and explore Vintage Vehicles

Downs Solicitors Heritage Gardens

  • Come and enjoy afternoon tea treats from local cafes in this tranquil setting
  • Live music with Mandy Dineley Penny during the afternoon

Old King’s Courtyard

  • Enjoy afternoon tea treats from Harts at the Courtyard with live music from Zara Britain during the afternoon

Dorking Museum

  • Explore Dorking Museum as part of our Celebration of VE Day 80 and Surrey Day. There will be a family activity for all to take part in, children will be able to dress up in our WW2 costumes and handle artefacts from WW2.  There will also be a special window display and a Refugee Exhibition with a focus on World War 2.
  • The family activity will run from 1000 – 1530 and children will be able to create commemorative flags, bunting, medals and poppies.  All materials will be provided free.  This activity is in collaboration with the Arts Society Dorking.

United Reformed Church, West Street

  • Join in creating a ‘Dove of Peace’ display in the church garden.
  • Dance Displays from Lucy’s Dance Project and Laird Academy.
  • Charity Cream teas available
